Global Architecture - Lead Program Vendor Tool Engineer (PVTE)-MFE0000422



Responsible for managing Program Vendor Tooling Engineers for a specific Program Architecture. Lead Global Vendor Tooling contact for assigned Program Arch. Ensure Program Architecture Cost Books are lean and accurate. Maintain DSI program budgets allowing for offsets or contingency funds. Ensure capital forecast is aligned with vendor tooling spending.



Roles and responsibilities will include:



Process and Program/Project Management



- Lead Global Vendor Tooling contact for assigned Program Arch.

- Maintain lean and accurate program vendor tooling cost books

- Maintain DSI budget using contingency as offset for increases

- Ensure capital forecast is aligned with vendor tooling spending

- Lead the execution of Vendor Tooling to all impacted plants

- Approve trade-offs between Mfg., Logistics, and piece cost

- Ensure lessons learned from each vehicle launch shared with subsequent vehicle launches

- Ensure DCS, Allowable Cost, Sourcing and TKO events are documented in cost books

- Use ELB or Sharepoint Potentials for analyzing program potentials

- Review Vendor Tooling status with Program Teams

- Verify capacity tooling requests on a global basis

- Ensure Capital Mgt. funding (SAP/GMTOPs) aligns with VT Cost Books



Program Imperatives Management



- Optimize reuse of existing Vendor Tools

- Drive complexity reduction

- Ensure development of competitive Vendor Tooling investment targets and status

- Oversee and control the global Vendor Tooling investment for assigned programs

- Reduce Global Vendor Tool cost across program architecture

- Maximize sharing of tools across global program architecture



Requirement Engineering and Product Interface



- Coordinate reviews with MIM and Manuf. Chief to verify tooling plans

- Represent Vendor Tooling in Mfg. MIT’s and investment health checks

- Represent Vendor Tooling in all global PET’s and other cross functional project teams

- Regional/Global Vendor Tooling voice to the product development homeroom beginning at PFI



Areas of Responsibility



- Lead cross functional Vendor Tooling process development for regional programs (in close cooperation with Product homeroom design)

- Manage regional PVTE’s

- Align with other regional Arch. Lead PVTE’s for lessons learned



Interaction



- Ensure development of competitive Vendor Tooling Investment targets

- Meet VT targets and timing for all regional programs

- Decide and take actions that directly influence the achievement of the Vendor Tooling target related to investment, timing, and quality

- Decide on action plans to meet program imperatives

- Prioritize work in VT teams

- Resource management within regional VT teams

- Decisions regarding personnel selection or correction (HR) issues.

- Strategic decisions (affects multiple programs)

- Product changes to improve VT costs/performance



Qualifications



Basic Required



- Ability to manage and motivate diverse work group

- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively communicate with diverse individuals and all levels of management and personnel

- High level of analytic, organization and planning ability

- Excellent oral and written communication skills

- Detailed knowledge and highly proficient in Microsoft Excel

- Broad knowledge of Product and Manufacturing Systems

- Ability to work quickly with numbers

Basic Preferred



- Master degree in Business Management or Engineering preferred.



Education



- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
