Organizational Background: A distinct unit within General Motors Finance- Global Business Services (GBS). This position is in the Planning and Financial Support organization within GBS.
Position Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Financial support of Global Functional Staffs/Leaders in the development and tracking of budgets, forecasts and business plans;
- Manage budget/forecast consolidation system and interfaces with SAP Data Warehouse
- Provide decision support through development of business case analyses using DCF/ROI cash flow analysis and other business/financial matrices;
- Act in an advisory capacity to senior leadership where budget and financial alternatives exists;
- Coordinate global activities related to functional reporting consolidation and analyses
- Manage Special Projects, as required, and
- Provide process improvement/cost reduction proposals as applicable
- Use critical thinking skills to anticipate business issues and resolve in a proactive manner
These positions will report to the Manager, Planning and Financial Support.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office
• High Proficiency in Ess-base Hyperion
• Three or more years’ experience in Budgets and Forecasts
• Demonstrated ability to act in an advisory capacity
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate and resolve business issues
• International experience preferred (not mandatory)
Professional Skill Requirements
• MBA and/or CPA Preferred
• Experience with SAP Finance & Accounting modules
• Experience with Ess-base Hyperion
• Strong Critical Thinking Skills
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
