This position is located in Detroit, MI.

This position is with the Global Business Services (GBS) Finance Project Team responsible for implementing the Global Corporate Card and SAP T&E expense reporting system worldwide. The person in this position will be assigned to work both on the project to globalize corporate card and expense reporting along with some limited accounting and other U.S. related responsibilities supporting the U.S. Expense Reporting operation. It requires a highly motivated, focused and disciplined individual who works effectively without supervision and is comfortable in an un-structured position and communicating with all levels of management. This individual responsibilities include (but not limited to) with designing and implementing standard global accounting and expense report audit processes/procedures, assisting with gathering countries business requirements for the system, training employees on using new tools/systems, and defining and analyzing associated business requirements. The candidate must be able to travel internationally.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Work with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly/timely communicated and understood by all stakeholders.

• Liaise with global stakeholders on an ongoing basis including facilitating meetings with all staff levels.

• Maintain frequent contact with others outside the work group.

• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

• Design, develop and implement complete global expense report accounting/audit processes, journal entries and reconciliations. Work with affected countries to create journal entries recons.

• Design/create audit processes – both pre-and post – including management reporting

• Document detailed specifications for associated global expense report accounting and audit processes and system requirements.

• Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and retained.

• Prepare desk procedures, training plan, training materials and train affected parties on processes, systems tools, etc.

• Prepare approximately 2-3 journal entries and perform account reconciliations for U.S. operations.

• Administer U.S. settlements process

• Able to quickly learn and understand business issues pertaining to commercial cards and expense reporting of different countries, regions, and business organizations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or business administration or equivalent training/experience

• 5-7 years of overall business experience

• 3-5 years of project management experience

• Good understanding of SAP Accounting, including writing journals

• Experience in administering commercial cards / payment cards

• Understand expense reporting and associated administration

• Ability to adjust to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and work within time constraints

• Skilled in eliciting cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, and other departments / organizations

• Able to travel internationally

Preferred Qualifications


• Prior project / program management experience

• Previous experience in providing customer service
