About the role:



The Application Development Manager will lead development teams to design, code, and deploy innovative solutions. This role requires the Software Development Manager to oversee and guide a team of development leads, architects, developers, requirements analysts, and testers through the development process. From the initiation of the project planning phase, the Software Development Manager will interface with various GM teams to drive the system development process through deployment. This challenging role will motivate team members to create the system design, implement code, test the changes, and walk the project through release. The Development Manager will work with global resources while building and leading a team of experienced developers. Creativity, drive, and initiative are imperative to the success of the Software Development Manager.



Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in IT related discipline or equivalent experience

- At least 8 years of experience developing Manufacturing or Materials applications

- Ability to work constructively as an individual or in groups with minimal supervision. Understands and can apply software engineering and application development methodologies in a complex multi-project environment.

- Experience with utilizing software development tools and best practices, i.e. Unit Testing, Code coverage, secure code analysis, Source Code management, Continuous integration, etc.

- Excellent background with technical platforms including Java, web, and other emerging technologies

- A strong balance of leadership, business acumen and technical skill

- Experience in attracting the best talent and managing teams of high performance developers

- A current portfolio demonstrating extensive expertise in executing technical deep-dives on software design, code, and test artifacts

- Experience is crafting detailed design specifications as well as test plans for unit and integration testing



Preferred Qualifications:

- Working management experience of 2-5+ years

- Proven track record in developing complex software involving global dependencies

- Preferred experience and familiarity with IT best practices (e.g., CMMI, ISO9000, ITIL, COBIT) and their implications relative to repeatable software development

- Preferred experience with Agile, Scrum, iterative, or waterfall development and project methodologies

- Experience and deep understanding of logical and physical data modeling and relational database technologies, i.e. stored procedures, SQL, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Triggers, etc.

- Preferred experience in a Manufacturing or Warehousing environment.

- Successful completion of business transformation and integration project with demonstrated success

- Masters degree in CS or equivalent preferred
