This position is part of the Global RTP (“Request to Pay”) Processes, Controls & Compliance area within the GBS (Global Business Services) organization and will report to the Manager, RTP Training & Transformation.



The primary responsibilities of this position is to effectively deliver onsite pre-deployment SAP training to ensure successful SAP implementations to various sites within North and South America as well as to execute ongoing post-deployment training and end user support initiatives (onsite and remote) to maintain and further enhance the SAP skills/proficiency within the end user community.



The position will work closely with the RTP Instructional Designers, the IT Deployment team and the respective SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) at the General Motors’ sites to analyze the unique business processes and specific training needs of a site prior to the SAP deployment, to adapt training materials, lesson plans and delivery methods as needed and to develop training/class schedules in support of the overall deployment plan.



During the active plant deployment in 2015/2016, this position will require substantial travel (estimated at 80%) within North and South America. Majority of the required travel will be in the U.S. and Mexico. Some travel to Argentina.



SCOPE AND CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS, KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Work closely with the IT SAP Deployment Team and the client site SMEs to understand unique business processes and training needs during the pre-deployment phase (including audience and delivery method analysis)

- Work closely with the RTP Instructional Design Team to adapt training plans/ materials / lesson plans / exercises to best support the pre-deployment training of a particular site

- Deliver instructor lead training as part of a team (lead trainer / co-trainer) or independently

- Develop and execute pre-deployment training schedules in cooperation with the client site to cover all affected roles (e.g. Crib Attendant, Receiving Clerk/Supervisor, MRP Planner, MRP Controller, Shopping Cart Requestor, Shopping Cart Approver)

- Build data/scenarios in the SAP training client to support hands on exercises

- Coach end users one-on-one as needed

- Collect and evaluate training feedback and develop recommendations to continuously improve training content and delivery

- Provide special post-deployment support “Hypercare” to the deployed sites (usually 2-4 weeks following the deployment date)

- Execute post-deployment ongoing training initiatives (instructor lead onsite/remote) (Refresher training as well as new employee training)

- Travel nationally and internationally in support of pre and post deployment training (estimated travel at 80% in 2015/2016)



Qualifications

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s Degree (communications, computer science or science-adult education preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience

- 2 or more years classroom adult training experience (SAP or other Software preferred)

- SAP Certifications (Procurement, SRM, Materials Management (Indirect Materials)) or equivalent experience

- Solid hands-on experience with SAP SRM (Shopping Carts) and Materials Management (MM)

- Experience with the SAP FICO module (preferred)

- Business experience in Materials Management (preferred)

- Experience in Project Management (preferred)



KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

- Ability to effectively work with and instruct a wide variety of clients/end users as it relates to their educational level (from high school or less to university graduates)

- Ability to quickly and effectively understand new business processes and systems

- Ability to effectively document existing business processes using MS Visio or BlueWorks live

- Ability to follow facilitator guides to provide the required standardized level of instruction to all client sites

- Proven ability to deliver engaging and effective training initiatives to build and grow essential knowledge and enhance user adoption

- Ability to create/ set up training data in SAP SRM/ECC MM to support hands on training exercises

- Basic knowledge of project management in support of developing and executing training plans/schedules to support the overall site deployment plans/ schedules

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent customer services and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Ability to deliver classroom and remote online training

- Some knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles (preferred)

- Fluent in English spoken and written (required)

- Fluent in Spanish spoken and written (preferred)
